Biography

Before his employment at Trafi, Pekka Henttu worked for 33 years as apilotfor Finnair (13,500 flight hours) and in various management positions such as head of regulatory issues and technical chief pilot. In addition to his qualification as Commander, he also has an MSc Engineeringdegree from Helsinki University of Technology.

Pekka Henttu has been Director General of Civil Aviation in Trafi since 1 May 2011. He also holds other duties in the European aviation community, including the following positions of responsibility: chairman of the EASA Management Board, member of the ECAC Coordinating Committee (Focal Point for Safety) and vice chairman of the ICAO European Regional Aviation Safety Group.
