ECAC monthly familiarisation webinar on basic knowledge on aviation and the environment

2 March 2022 — The potential climate effects of aviation’s non-CO2 emissions was the topic addressed at the eighth monthly ECAC familiarisation webinar on basic knowledge on aviation and the environment. EASA presented the outcome of its study summarising the science of the non-CO2 climate impacts of aviation, and potential policy mitigation measures. Contrails, or vapour trails sometimes generated by the plane’s exhaust, are identified as one of the potential non-CO2 climate warming factors.
