Behaviour Detection Study Group discusses 2022 tasks

15-16 February 2022 - The ECAC Behaviour Detection Study Group held its first meeting of 2022 online to agree on the working methods to deliver its 2022 work programme within the set target dates. Discussion covered how to best link the online training methodology for behaviour detection (BD) with the model training programme for BD officers, and developing common research standards on the effectiveness of BD programmes.

Cyber security training for national auditors

1-3 February 2022 and 7-9 February 2022 - The ECAC Secretariat delivered two online Best Practices for National Auditors – Cyber Security (Basic) training courses to national auditors from Denmark (1-3 February) and Romania (7-9 February). The course programme was designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of cyber threats to civil aviation, and covered topics such as the cyber threat actors, possible threat scenarios, and the key elements of cyber risk management.

Common Evaluation Process of security equipment developments

2-3 February 2022 - The 52nd meeting of the ECAC Common Evaluation Process (CEP) Management Group provided an opportunity to discuss the progress and implementation status of recent CEP developments such as the tray equivalence protocol, the quality plan for CEP participating test centres, harmonised test report generators (harmonised protocols) and CEP key performance indicators, as well as the next steps.

Aviation cyber security experts work on 2022 priorities and tasks

1 February 2022 - The ECAC Study Group on Cyber Security in Civil Aviation held its first meeting of the year online to agree on a timeline for 2022 work priorities and the division of tasks and responsibilities. The tasks established for 2022 will include developing new guidance on cyber security training, recommendations on cyber security assurance of security equipment, and best practices for penetration testing and risk management of the supply chain.
