Washington DC, 9–10 June 2025 — Members of the ECAC Coordinating Committee were welcomed in Washington DC by representatives from the Department of State, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Transportation and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

This 29th bilateral meeting between the two delegations (CC-US/29) offered a valuable opportunity for ECAC to gain insight into recent US developments, notably on safety and ATM modernisation, and priority areas of work, while also facilitating a fruitful exchange of views on shared challenges such as research on contrails and security technology.

The meeting covered a broad range of key topics, including aviation safety, security, economic regulation, environmental matters, and ICAO-related issues, in preparation for the upcoming 42nd ICAO Assembly (23 September – 3 October 2025). The discussions reaffirmed both sides’ strong commitment to continued cooperation aimed at identifying solutions to the challenges facing the aviation ecosystem.

On the second day, ECAC delegates visited the TSA Systems Integration Facility (TSIF) (photo top), where they gained valuable insight into TSA operational testing of security equipment.
