Videoconference, 20 October 2025 — The 16th Manufacturers Information Session on the ECAC Common Evaluation Process (CEP) of security equipment brought together over 80 attendees, including representatives from eight Member States, the European Commission and more than 60 industry stakeholders.

The meeting was led by Valentine Sarnau (Switzerland), chair of the CEP Management Group.

Participants received updates on the United States Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) participation in the CEP as an Associated Authority since June 2025, the exceptional recognition of external test results for EDSCB (explosive detection systems for cabin baggage) C3 in spring 2025, and ongoing work to address test capacity challenges.

The ECAC Secretariat presented progress on the 2025–2027 CEP roadmap, structured around the principles of reliability, sustainability and transparency. Manufacturers welcomed the transparency of the process and the steps taken to resolve issues identified during implementation. They also reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation with ECAC to further strengthen the roadmap’s implementation.

The session concluded with an open discussion on testing capacity, cooperation between ECAC and external testing frameworks, and opportunities for future collaboration on new testing approaches. Participants proposed holding the next information session in person in 2026.
