Videoconference, 30 March 2023 — The ECAC Legal Task Force met virtually to kick off this year’s meetings of the group. Participants discussed the 2023 work programme as agreed by Directors General in December 2022. The meeting considered how best to implement an effective approach to information sharing across the group on key legal matters to enable learning from precedents established under new or complex cases.

Videoconference, 29 March 2023 — The Dutch government has decided to introduce a CO2 emissions ceiling for international aviation, a policy measure to ensure that certain emissions reduction targets are met in the Netherlands in the short, mid and long terms. The 17th ECAC monthly familiarisation webinar on basic knowledge on aviation and the environment was dedicated to helping participants understand this policy measure thanks to the participation of Jesper van Manen, senior policy officer on sustainable aviation from the Dutch civil aviation directorate.

Paris/videoconference, 23-24 March 2023 — European economic experts gathered on 23 and 24 March for respectively the 8th meeting of the ECAC Network of Chief Economists and the 15th meeting of the Economic Working Group. The Network of Chief Economists picked up the theme of the ECAC Directors General Forum in December 2022 on the lessons learnt from the summer 2022 challenges faced by the air transport sector.

Geneva, 22-24 March 2023 — Pilot phase II of the ECAC Quality Assessment Programme (QAP) on assistance for persons with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility (PRM) was completed with an assessment of easyJet Switzerland’s operations at Geneva Airport, at the request of the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation.
