The Hague/videoconference, 22-23 May 2025 — The ECAC Training Task Force met to review progress on several key documents aimed at strengthening aviation security training across Member States. The meeting discussed a new recommendation addressing human factors in aviation security, which is intended for inclusion in Chapter 11 of ECAC Doc 30, Part II (Security).
In addition, the group discussed two new draft best practice papers:
• the training of screeners in detecting improvised incendiary devices (IIDs); and
• the training of national auditors overseeing the use of explosive detection dogs.
These documents will be finalised through written consultation and are expected to be shared with Member States in the coming months, following their review and adoption by the Security Programme Management Group (SPMG).
