Berlin, 13-16 May 2025 — The first 2025 assessment under the ECAC Quality Assessment Programme on the assistance to persons with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility (PRMs) was conducted in Berlin this May.

Requested by Germany, the assessment focused on Berlin Brandenberg Airport and Lufthansa, with the German Civil Aviation Authority (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt) in the role of national coordinator, and the involvement of an observer from the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport. The assessment was carried out in close cooperation with a range of representatives from both entities, including industry managers, PRM assistance providers and website experts.

Over four days, a team comprising representatives from Greece, Italy and the ECAC Secretariat conducted on-site evaluation at Berlin Brandenburg Airport and at the Lufthansa Intouch office in Berlin. The assessment followed a set of criteria derived from the recommendations contained in ECAC’s policy statement document, Doc 30, Part I (Facilitation), focusing on four specific themes: airport design, assistance provision, booking and pre-notifications, and website information.
