Riga, 13-14 May 2025 — The 45th meeting of the ECAC Security Forum was held in Riga with strong participation from Member States and observer organisations, both in-person and online.
Key discussions focused on refining the Forum’s strategy for 2025–2027 and strengthening collaboration between ECAC working groups. Highlights included updates from ECAC’s task forces and study groups, with an emphasis on behaviour detection, explosive detection dogs, and cyber security.
The Forum welcomed the launch of the new Group on Security Testing and noted growing interest in ECAC’s capacity-building activities, particularly covert testing and cargo inspections.
Discussions also addressed the future development of the Common Evaluation Process (CEP) of security equipment to meet Member States’ and industry needs.
The Forum also welcomed a presentation on lessons learnt from the 2024 Paris Olympics from an aviation security perspective.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation and continuous improvement in civil aviation security across Europe. They warmly thanked the Civil Aviation Agency of Latvia for the excellent organisation of the meeting and its generous hospitality.
