Biography
Lorenzo Mantegazza joined the ECAC Secretariat in August 2026 as Aviation Security Capacity-Building Manager, overseeing ECAC’s capacity-building and audit programmes and supporting Member States through tailored activities, specialised training, expert group coordination and guidance materials. Prior to joining ECAC, Lorenzo worked at Milan Bergamo Airport, where he served as head of security, responsible for security management and emergency preparedness, including assistance to aircraft accident victims and their families, and contributing to national and European joint initiatives on aviation security. He further developed expertise in family assistance through his engagement with the Family Victims Association established after the 2001 Linate accident and through collaboration with other national and international stakeholders.
