Biography

Gvantsa Kereselidze has served as Head of the Aviation Security Department at the national civil aviation authority of Georgia since 2013. In this role, she oversees the development, implementation and oversight of aviation security policies and regulatory frameworks in alignment with international and European standards.

She has been working in the field of civil aviation since 2010, gaining experience across different areas of the sector before specialising in aviation security. In addition to her role as head of department, she has been serving for approximately ten years as a flight safety inspector and aviation security instructor.

Gvantsa has extensive experience in aviation security testing, having organised and overseen national security testing activities and actively participated in the implementation of related testing programmes and exercises across the country.

Her work includes close cooperation with international partners and organisations to support the implementation of global aviation security standards and best practices. She actively contributes to international working groups and initiatives aimed at enhancing aviation security and strengthening cooperation among aviation stakeholders.

Gvantsa was appointed as deputy chair of the Group on Security Testing, for a first mandate of three years starting on 5 March 2026..
