Madrid, 27 October 2026 — Improving the efficiency and added value of ECAC’s security groups was a key focus of the 49th meeting of the ECAC Security Programme Management Group, which continued work on a proposal to streamline the groups and their activities.

The aim is to make more efficient use of available resources in Member States, while ensuring that the groups deliver outputs that bring clear benefits to all ECAC Member States.

The management group also looked at progress under the 2026 work programmes of the ECAC security groups and discussed their work priorities for 2027.

In addition, it reviewed implementation of the ECAC Aviation Security Audit and Capacity-Building Programmes and the achievements of the ECAC Common Evaluation Process (CEP) of security equipment in 2026, alongside plans and priorities for the coming year.
