Montreal, 22 September 2025 — The regional civil aviation organisations, ACAO (Arab Civil Aviation Organization), AFCAC (African Civil Aviation Commission), ECAC and LACAC (Latin American Civil Aviation Commission), have formalised a new partnership to strengthen global air transport by signing a landmark Declaration of Cooperation at a ceremony held in the Romania/CERG office in Montreal, ahead of the 42nd ICAO Assembly.
The presidents of ECAC, ACAO, AFCAC and LACAC were signatories to the declaration, which reflects the partners’ willingness for closer collaboration on aviation safety, security, facilitation, and the sustainable growth of the sector. It also reinforces their intent to tackle shared challenges through interregional cooperation, from capacity building and training to support the implementation of ICAO’s standards, to policy discussions.
The organisations’ leaders hailed the declaration as a milestone in advancing a safer, more resilient, sustainable and inclusive international aviation system.
