Rome, 29 October 2025 — The ECAC Secretariat was invited to contribute to the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) workshop “ENAC’s New Challenges: from Italy to Europe” – Accessibility, Inclusion and Rights for Persons with Disabilities and Reduced Mobility, held in Rome.
The meeting was attended by representatives from ECAC Member States, the European Commission, IATA and the ECAC Secretariat.
The workshop featured keynote addresses by ENAC President Pierluigi Di Palma, Director General Alexander D’Orsogna, and the Italian Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli, alongside senior representatives from the Italian National Authority for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, industry, and disability and equal rights associations.
Three panel discussions explored ways to make air travel more inclusive for all passengers, focusing on improved airport infrastructure and PRM services.
Angela Lynch (above photo - centre) from the ECAC Secretariat contributed to the discussions, presenting the ECAC Quality Assessment Programme on assistance to persons with reduced mobility. This programme was highlighted as a model of cooperation among ECAC Member States that helps build capacity, strengthen expertise, and promote best practices in supporting the needs of passengers with disabilities.
