Roskilde, 5 November 2025 — The 63rd meeting of the ECAC Air Accident and Incident Investigation Group of Experts (ACC) took place in Roskilde after the ACC workshop.

The group received information from the ECAC Secretariat on the main discussions and outcomes from the 42nd ICAO Assembly (Montreal 23 September – 3 October 2025) related to safety investigations, and reviewed progress on ACC’s ongoing work, also noting updates from EASA and ENCASIA.

Crispin Orr informed the group that he would step down as chief inspector of the United Kingdom Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) in January 2026, and consequently also as chair of ACC.

Mr Orr has chaired the group for two consecutive mandates spanning almost six years, and will leave behind a strong legacy of promoting and developing European cooperation in air safety investigations. The process to appoint the next chair, who will lead the group towards its next meeting in Dubrovnik, Croatia, in May 2026, is now underway.
