Vienna, 19-20 November 2025 — ECAC’s Facilitation Working Group met in Vienna for its final gathering of the year.
Over two days of constructive discussions, experts from ECAC Member States and observer organisations (AIRE, ERA, European Commission, Global Express Association and IATA) considered a range of current facilitation topics. Highlights included:
• the growing awareness of accessibility needs for air travellers, including persons with reduced mobility (PRMs);
• customs and immigration matters;
• strengthening National Facilitation Programmes to ensure effective coordination among all stakeholders involved in the implementation of facilitation measures.
The group also discussed ongoing work to build on the ECAC Policy Statement Doc 30, Part I – Facilitation, and agreed on proposals for its 2026 work programme. These efforts will continue to focus on the group’s key objectives: improving the passenger experience and facilitating legitimate trade across the air transport sector.
The group expressed its warm thanks to the Austrian Federal Ministry of Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure for their excellent hospitality.
