Airports’ role in reducing aviation emissions is focus of the monthly ECAC familiarisation webinar on aviation and the environment
2 February 2022 - The seventh monthly ECAC familiarisation webinar on basic knowledge on aviation and the environment looked at the role played by airports in reducing aviation emissions, and progress made towards reaching aviation’s climate goals.
Zurich Airport provided an overview of concrete actions and examples of measures that can be implemented by airports, and the ACI EUROPE representative underlined the organisation’s commitment to reach net zero by 2050.
Topics discussed during the webinar included the airports’ contribution to implementing the ICAO basket of measures to reduce emissions, presented by the ICAO EUR/NAT office, and how this can be referred to in States’ action plans.
Over 80 participants from 24 ECAC Member States and five organisations joined this webinar. The next webinar is scheduled on 2 March 2022.
