ECAC auditors plan a revival of the ECAC Aviation Security Audit Programme
22-23 February 2022 - ECAC certified aviation security auditors proposed updates to the ECAC Audit Methodology at their 20th annual meeting. These updates will address issues relating to auditor recertification before on-site audits can be resumed in 2022.
The group also considered proposals to improve the documents guiding the implementation of the ECAC security audit programme. They agreed to review the auditors’ aide to ensure consistency among auditors when collecting information on the implementation of new and amended Doc 30 Part II recommendations, including on background checks, cargo security and training.
As part of their continuous professional development, the auditors discussed and analysed different security scenarios relating to the implementation of Doc 30 recommendations. In doing so, they paid particular attention to developing a common interpretation of new and amended recommendations, as well as to exchanging experience and best practices in auditing those recommendations.
