ECAC expresses its solidarity with Ukraine

1 March 2022 – The European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) is extremely concerned by the current situation in Ukraine, and the impact on the Ukrainian people and the aviation sector. ECAC reaffirms its support for, and solidarity with, all those affected by this armed conflict.

Agreeing with the recent statement made by ICAO Council States condemning the violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, including its airspace, the President of ECAC, Alessio Quaranta (Director General of Civil Aviation of Italy) said:

"Air transport in Europe, already disrupted by the COVID-19 crisis, now faces one of the greatest challenges in its history. ECAC Member States are committed to taking all necessary actions to maintain civil aviation safety and security in the European region, working in solidarity with our fellow Member State, Ukraine."
