Michiel van Dorst - Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (LVNL)
Biography
Michiel van Dorst is CEO of Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (LVNL), which he joined in 2016. He is committed to LVNL’s mission of working together with society, customers and partners to enable safe, high-performance, and sustainable aviation in the Netherlands and beyond.
He is currently chairman of the Europe CANSO CEO Committee (EC3). This committee represents European air traffic control organisations at the EU and various international aviation bodies. Michiel represents Europe in CANSO’s global Executive Committee. He also serves as vice chairman of the Supervisory Board of The Rotterdam Eye Hospital. This hospital specialises in eye surgery.
Before joining LVNL, Michiel worked for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for more than two decades, of which the last seven years as operations executive in the Executive Committee and as captain on the Boeing 737 and Boeing 777. He served at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as a member of the Operations Committee from 2010 through April 2016.
