Biography
Executive controller in the enroute and terminal sectors of Milan ACC, on-the-job training instructor, responsible for the management of all operational training activities, operations supervisor, chief of operations room, and responsible for the transition to the new technological platform in 2001 until taking on the role of head of Milan ACC.
On 1 January 2012, Paolo was appointed executive director of ENAV's en-route operations with responsibility for standardising the way air traffic services are delivered and prioritising technological innovations for the 4 ACCs. In 2011, he announced a complete overhaul of the national airspace with fully customer-oriented solutions to increase capacity and reduce fuel consumption and consequently CO2 emissions. Since 1 April 2019, he has been responsible for the new ATM System Evolution and Strategic Services Planning department with the role of managing the technological and operational evolution of ATM systems and platforms used in control towers and ACCs, as well as the study, definition and implementation of remote towers.
