Rolf Henke - DLR Executive Board

Biography

Professor Rolf Henke joined the Executive Board of the German Aerospace Center – Division aeronautics in 2010. Since November 2020, he has been the Representative Aviation of the Executive Board. He is also Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Technical University of Rhineland Westphalia in Aachen, where he formerly acted as head of the Institute of Aerospace Technology.

In addition to his academic responsibilities, Professor Henke worked at MBB (Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm, now Airbus Operations) for 20 years. He has been president of the German Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics (DGLR) since 2013. Furthermore, Professor Henke actively participates in European aviation research initiatives. He was involved in drafting "Flightpath 2050", the European vision for aviation. Additionally, Professor Henke participates in ACARE, the Advisory Council for Aviation Research and Innovation in Europe, having been chair and currently being co-chair.
